Whenever I’ve picked up a book by today’s guest author, I’ve known nothing on my ‘To Do’ list will be accomplished until I’ve read to the very last page. Although she’s written some contemporary romances, a young adult historical fantasy trilogy, and paranormal historical with strong fantasy elements, I am most familiar with my guest’s historical romances. Having been a fan for so many years, I was very excited when Kathryn Falk (founder of Romantic Times) introduced me to Mary Jo Putney at my very first RT Convention in New Orleans back in 2014. Mary Jo, I’m thrilled to have you as my guest author today. Thank you for being here! Firstly, would you please tell us about your most recent release and whether it posed any particular challenges for you? Thanks for all the kind words, Alyssa!  Here's a blurbette of  Once a Spy , which has just been released: Wearied by his years as a British intelligence officer, Simon Duval resigns his commission after Napoleon’s a

My guest today is a New York Times best selling author from Pennsylvania who has a Ph.D in Art History and who has taught at college level. She has a very frank article on her website titled “My First Sale” where she details her journey to securing her first contract. Like many published authors, she faced numerous rejections from various publishing houses saying that “I wrote a million words before I sold”. However, her resilience and tenacity of spirit has led to her having over 32 historical romances published in sixteen languages and with over six million books in print. I can only imagine that all those books and all those satisfying hours she’s given her readers over the years since her first book was published in June of 2000 must give her a tremendous sense of fulfilment.   But, her achievement doesn’t end there. She has also been deservedly recognised by being a seven time RITA finalist, and she has won the coveted RITA Award twice!         It is my pleasure to welcome M

If you love historical romance, you’ll love the stories by today’s guest author, Anna Bradley. In fact, her first novel A Wicked Way to Win an Earl won a Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award for Best First Historical Novel, and Anna has kept going from one fabulous tale to another. Her Regency historical romances are both sexy and steamy and Anna asks, “Who says history isn’t hot?”!! I'll tell you now that Anna's books are fabulous reads and may have you reaching for your fans! I have learned quite a few bits of regency slang from Anna’s posts on The Drawing Room, which is a multi-historical romance author facebook group featuring fun facts and discussions about historical romance. Did you know that an “addle-pate” is a fool? How about the slang “Swell of the first stare” which means an elegant, fashionable gentleman? I also quite like the expression “Dicked in the Nob” which Anna tells me means “crazy”! A very warm welcome to Anna Bradley who joins me today
