My guest today is one of the most versatile authors I know. She’s a USA Today best-selling, double RITA nominee and multi-award winning author who’s written everything from sexy contemporary romances and medical romances for Harlequin Mills & Boon, to hot sports romances (try her “Sydney Smoke Rugby” novels from Entangled Publishing and her “Women of War” for Escape Publishing), small town romances, quirky suspense romances...and the list goes on. Her novels are epic emotional reads; her heroines take no prisoners and are always capable of putting the hero firmly in his place; and I  know that readers have commented that sex must exist just for this author to write about because she does it so well!  Honestly, her books have elicited an entire range of emotions in me as I've read them - from laugh-out-loud quirky to pass-the-tissue-box teary. Obviously I Iove her stories, but one that stands out in my mind is a 2013 Harlequin Mills & Boon title, "The

Guest Author: Janna MacGregor

It never ceases to amaze me what incredibly talented people romance authors are—the varied careers they’ve had and the way so many juggle professional careers with romance writing. My special guest author today is no exception. When award-winning historical romance author, Janna MacGregor, discovered she was about to have triplets and needed to have bed rest, she decided to study for a law degree. (You thought I was about to say that she decided to write romances, didn’t you?)  Janna says that she “remembered her attorney-husband’s sage advice that successful attorneys always have the last word in an argument”, took these words to heart, became an attorney and a managing partner of his law firm. Now, she is still a lawyer by day and her husband and triplets can attest to the fact that she always has the last word in an argument.  But wait…there’s more…At night, Janna writes sexy Regency historical for St. Martin’s Press. It sounds exhausting, doesn’t it? But, this superwom

Guest Author: Lorraine Heath

The Washington Post says of my guest author, Lorraine Heath, “Heath is known for her beautiful, deeply emotional romances” but I would add that I love the very believable three dimensional characters Lorraine creates—something that may have been helped by her psychology degree. She is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author and although she has been writing historical novels since 1994, I have only been following her regency romances since 2004 when I read and loved, “An Invitation to Seduction”.  Since then, all of her regency romances have been bookmarked on my bedside table throughout the years, with the most recent read being her 2018 release, “Beyond Scoundrel and Desire.” I only know Lorraine’s historical romances so was very surprised to learn that she also writes contemporary romance, paranormal romance and young adult novels under multiple pen names, including Rachel Hawthorne, J.A. London, and Jade Parker. I had my first fan-girl moment at an RT Conv

Guest Author: Marie Force

It’s been four years since I met NY Times & USA Today Bestselling author, Marie Force at the RWAus “Romance Rocks” conference in Sydney. Since then, Marie has continued to have huge success with her writing and she’s continued to help other writers in their journey towards publication. A firm favourite for many Australian romance readers, it’s not only a fan-girl moment for me that has Marie featured on today’s blog. Marie is here by popular demand as a firm favourite of members of the Australian Romance Readers Association who told me how much they'd like to catch up with her latest news. Welcome Marie! I remember speaking to you in Sydney about how much I loved your character Jack who featured in “Treading Water”. I realised after we’d spoken that this title was the first you wrote (back in 2005), you started with Kindle Direct Publishing in 2010, yet “Treading Water” was the eighth title you published. I’ve wondered since...Why did it take you so long to publish “T

Guest Author: Cathy Maxwell

My special guest author today was a guest at the Australian Romance Readers Conference in 2013. She is a NY Times and USA Today Best-selling author who has been a news broadcaster, worked in naval intelligence (including a tour with the US Pentagon), and a costume designer for theatre productions. These days, she writes wonderful historical romances whose characters leap off the pages and seem so real they could be in the room with us as we read. Of course, I am introducing the wonderful, Cathy Maxwell, who is currently writing the Spinster Heiress books (published by Avon). I have been a huge fan of Cathy’s books ever since I read her “A seduction at Christmas” about a decade ago, and her novel, “A Match Made in Bed" is at the top of my TBR pile.   I caught up with Cathy again recently at RT18 in Reno, and she very kindly agreed to be on my Guest author blog.   Hi Cathy and welcome to the Quick Author Quizzing! It's such a pleasure t
