My guest author today is a third generation Alaskan who has travelled extensively, (living and working on five different continents), and is currently living in New Zealand. It was when she was teaching English in China in 2006 that she entered an Avon Fanlit online writing contest, and while she didn’t final, she met and became friends with talented authors such as Courtney Milan, Tessa Dare, Erica Ridley and Darcy Burke who became critique partners and continued to encourage her. In 2014 she was the winning author of the Golden Heart for historical romance, and that prestigious accolade led to a three book deal with Avon Books.   In 2016, she won the RT Book Reviews award for Best First Historical Romance and just last year her novel, “Blame it on the Duke” was a finalist in the RWA RITA for published author in Historical Short Category. Not only is she a USA Today Best selling author and loved by historical romance readers all over the world, but she’s received high pra...

The last two years, I’ve sat next to this lovely upbeat author at the Saturday book fair events at the RT Booklovers Convention in Reno in 2018 and again this year in New Orleans at the inaugural BookLovers Con. We've had some great chats about writing and life in general, and our conversations have been very entertaining when there's been a small lull in the reader traffic coming our way! I was thrilled to see she’s going to be in Nashville next March, too, so hopefully we’ll get to sit next to each other again then and sign our books! Having always loved reading, it was always just a matter of time before Eva Moore put pen to paper and began writing her own “sexy, contemporary romances” which feature “compelling characters”. She was the winner of Cherry Adair’s competition which encourages writers to “finish their damn book by the end of the year”, and has earned high praise from NYT Bestselling author, Sophie Jordan who says, “At the end of the day, everyone...

When I was asked by Kim Rozzell, owner of Author’s Umbrella, whether I’d like to have debut author or paranormal romances, Cathryn Marr, on the blog, I had to research this new-to-me author. I didn’t know that Cathryn Marr is the pseudonym for the writing team of Terese Ramin and Dawn Johanson and I only realised when I checked out the author facebook page that I’d actually met both ladies at the Concierge Desk in New Orleans when I was at the inaugural Booklovers Convention in May! Digging a little deeper into these ladies, I found their Amazon Author information absolutely fascinating... Terese Ramin, who lives in Michigan, is an award winning, bestselling author of ten romance and romantic suspense novels and numerous short stories. Terese has also worked as an editor, a ghost writer, a book doctor, and a paranormal investigator, and there are lots of other details for you to explore on the Amazon page! Dawn Johanson, from northern California, worked as a counsel...

Today’s guest’s bio on her website says that she “grew up sharing (your) life with dragons, elves, vampires, werewolves, shapeshiters and the occasional talking horse” but she actually had jobs as a clerk at the Bureau of Meteorology, a cook at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and a Function and Desert cook at the Essendon Football Club in Melbourne well before she became an author. She has penned the New York Times bestselling Riley Jenson Guardian series and I met her many years ago at my very first Romance Writers of Australia conference. I remember how I was a little overwhelmed when I met her but that she was welcoming and very down to earth and easy to speak to – immediately putting me at ease. Since then, I’ve enjoyed seeing her at numerous conferences, conventions and book signings and have followed her career (and over forty books) with great interest. I’ve cheered when she won RT’s Career Achievement Award for urban fantasy, applauded when she’s won Australian Romanc...
