Guest Author: Sarah Mayberry

I I’ve read many wonderful romances by today’s guest author, however I wasn’t aware until recently that once she obtained a BA in professional writing, she worked in trade journalism, undertook corporate communication and launched a consumer magazine for a major retailer, and not only works as a story consultant on Australia’s longest running TV serial drama, Neighbours , but also co-created a teen television drama series, Karaoke High . Wow. Welcome to superstar, NY Times Bestselling author, Sarah Mayberry, who joins me from Melbourne. Sarah, you’ve written for Harlequin Super romance, Blaze, Montana born books and have some independently released titles. Temporary was a title you released in September which you co-wrote with Sarina Bowen. Can you tell us about your latest release and whether it posed any particular challenges? My most recent release is The Cowboy Meets His Match, the story of a professional rodeo cowboy who meets an awesome, challenging woman who ro...

Eloisa James' Christmas Competition

Image
Eloisa James is a Harvard University graduate who obtained a M.Phil. from Oxford University and a Ph.D. from Yale. As well as being a Shakespearean professor, she is an incredibly talented New York Times bestselling author who writes historical romance for HarperCollins Publisher.  After being a finalist ten times for the coveted RWA RITA, her title Seduced by a Pirate, won the accolade. It was a huge honour and well deserved, however her fans all over the world are the true testimony to Eloisa James and her incredible talent to make us laugh, to pull at our heartstrings and to sweep us up into her characters’ lives so that they’re so real, we feel as though we know them. Eloisa was a keynote speaker at the 2012 RWA (Australia) conference on the Gold Coast and I have met her since at RT Events and look forward to seeing her again as a signing author at the new Booklovers Convention in New Orleans next year in May. Eloisa isn't able to join us on the blog today to answe...

Guest Author: Sonali Dev

Today’s guest is a multi-award winning author who received a RITA Award for Best First Book. I was thrilled to meet her in May this year at RT Reno and to attend the “Bollywood” function she co-hosted.  Sonali Dev writes beautifully emotional romance stories where the characters are challenged by impossibly high stakes and which make the HEA ending so, so satisfying. Sonali also gives the reader an insight into Indian culture and her stories “Change of Heart”, “The Bollywood Bride” and “A Bollywood Affair” have received fabulous accolades from the Library Journal, Kirkus and the Washington Post. People magazine said of her story “A Distant Heart” that it was “a gripping story of love, sacrifice and risk” and I find her romances to have a fresh, unique flavour which is compelling. Sonali, thank you for joining the Quick Author Quizzing blog today! Hi Alyssa, thanks so much for having me on your blog.  Fi rs tly, I’d love to hear about your newest release and whether th...

Guest Author: Tina DeSalvo

Image
Today’s guest author’s career in journalism spanned twenty-five years, and she had a huge variety of roles—covering floods and hurricanes with national broadcasts on major national broadcasters CNN, NBC and CBS, as well as being a play by play sports announcer for basketball and football! I met Tina DeSalvo briefly at my first RT Convention in New Orleans back in 2014, but it was at a post-convention soiree in Las Vegas, hosted by Kathryn Falk, that we had a chance to chat and connect one-to-one. Tina is one of the warmest and most generous ladies you’ll ever meet. Along with Cherry Adair and Stella Barcelona, Tina set out to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. All the profits of her first story, ‘Elli’ go to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, and Tina even organised a breast screening bus at the RT Reno convention. It’s lovely to have Tina as my guest on the blog today. Welcome Tina! First, would you tell us about your next release “The Fathers of Victori...
